His Snobbish Mother Forced His Fiancée to Wash Dishes, So He Ended Her Entire Empire
Previously: When Zachary found his tearful fiancée Megan washing dishes in a grey apron during his own celebration, his mother’s cruel words pushed him to make a life-altering decision.
The True Heir
Zachary walked over to a locked mahogany desk in the corner of the room. He unlocked the drawer and pulled out a dusty blue leather folder. He tossed it onto the coffee table right in front of the attorney.
"You should have checked the trust clauses before you brought your lawyer here, Mother,"Zachary said, his voice deadly calm.
The attorney frowned, picking up the documents and scanning them. Within seconds, the lawyer's face drained of color. He looked up at Helen, his voice shaking. "Mrs. Vance... we have a major problem."
Helen’s smile faltered.
"What are you talking about? Sign the custody papers!"she snapped. But Zachary stepped forward, shielding Megan and Lily.
"My late grandfather didn't leave the estate or the family company to you, Helen,"Zachary explained, using her first name to signal the death of their relationship.
"He left it to me. You were only appointed as the temporary trustee until I turned twenty-five or got married. And since Megan and I legally registered our marriage at city hall last month, the entire estate transferred to my name yesterday."
The attorney nodded slowly, confirming the devastating truth. "He is correct, Mrs. Vance. Under the terms of the grandfather's trust, your power of attorney has officially expired. Zachary now owns the company, this house, and the bank accounts. Technically, you are living on his allowance."
Helen stumbled backward, her face pale as she realized her reign of terror had crashed down around her. Zachary looked at her with cold determination.
"I was going to announce our marriage at the party last night, but you chose to treat my wife like a servant. Now, you will leave this house. Your allowance is suspended, and you are banned from seeing Lily until you learn some humility."
With her empire shattered and her threats rendered useless, Helen was forced to leave in utter disgrace. Zachary turned back to Megan, taking her and their daughter into his arms. They were finally free from the toxic shadow of his family, ready to build a future based on true love and mutual respect. No amount of wealth can ever buy the dignity of a loving family.
