With trembling hands, Nicholas gripped the armrests of his wheelchair and slowly pushed himself upward. The restaurant fell into a stunned silence. Guests gasped, and a waiter dropped a tray of crystal glasses. Nicholas was standing, fully upright and balanced, on his own two feet. The miracle was undeniable, but before he could even process the joy of his healing, the heavy doors of the restaurant burst open.

Nicholas’s older brother, Julian, marched into the room, accompanied by two police officers and the family’s private physician, Dr. Sterling. Julian’s face turned deathly pale as he saw Nicholas standing. He stopped in his tracks, his eyes wide with a mixture of shock and terror.

"What is going on here?" Julian demanded, quickly recovering his composure. He pointed a finger at Owen. "Officers, arrest that boy! He is a dangerous trespasser who is manipulating my brother!"

But Owen did not flinch. He stood tall beside Nicholas and looked directly at Julian.

"I am not an impostor, Uncle Julian," Owen said clearly.

The word echoed through the silent room. Nicholas frowned, his heart racing. "Uncle Julian? What are you talking about?" Nicholas asked, taking a strong, steady step forward.

Years ago, their older sister had died in a tragic accident, and her newborn baby had supposedly passed away in the hospital. Julian had handled all the arrangements. Now, Owen reached into his tattered pocket and pulled out a tarnished silver locket. Nicholas recognized it instantly—it was his sister’s cherished heirloom.

"My mother did not die in an accident, Uncle Nicholas," Owen said, tears in his eyes. "And I did not die in that hospital. Julian paid to have me taken away so he could inherit your entire estate if you died without an heir."

Julian panicked, pulling a legal document from his coat. "This is a lie! I have the power of attorney! Nicholas is mentally unfit, and I am taking control of the family empire tonight!"
