Previously: When a tattered teenager approached paralyzed billionaire Arthur in a high-end restaurant and promised to heal him in seconds, Arthur laughed—until he stood up, and a dark family secret was exposed.

The Cost of a Miracle

Arthur stood frozen, staring down at his legs in utter disbelief. He took a tentative step forward, then another. The paralysis was completely gone. But the joy of his miraculous recovery was instantly cut short. A choked gasp echoed from the floor. Arthur looked down and gasped.

The mysterious boy had collapsed onto the polished marble. His face was deathly pale, his lips turning a terrifying shade of blue. He was clutching his chest, his breathing shallow and ragged, as if some invisible force was crushing the life out of him.

"What's wrong with you?" Arthur cried out, kneeling down beside him. "Someone call an ambulance! Now!"

As Arthur grabbed the boy's trembling shoulders, a crumpled piece of paper slipped from the youth's pocket. It was an old, faded photograph. Arthur picked it up, and his heart stopped. Staring back at him from the photo was Clara, the only woman he had ever truly loved. Eighteen years ago, Arthur had ruthlessly abandoned her to marry a wealthy heiress and secure his corporate empire. He had never looked back, choosing cold, hard cash over love.

"Clara..." Arthur whispered, his voice shaking. "How do you know Clara?"

The boy opened his eyes, which were filled with tears and immense pain.

"She... she died last month," the boy whispered hoarsely. "Before she passed, she told me who my father was. She told me about Arthur Vance."

Arthur felt as if a physical blow had struck his chest. This boy, dying on the floor in front of him, was his own son.

"My name is Leo," the boy gasped, his body shivering violently. "My mother... she inherited a rare genetic gift. But it was a curse. We can heal... but we must absorb the affliction. A life for a life, Father."

The realization hit Arthur like a tidal wave of horror. Leo hadn't just cured his paralysis; he had transferred the dead nerves and failing physical state into his own young, fragile body. The billionaire had traded his son's life for his own ability to walk.
