He Tried to Expel a Homeless Boy Until a Single Photograph Changed Everything
The Uninvited Guest
The evening was supposed to be a triumph for Edward. Under the warm, golden glow of string lights draped across his sprawling backyard estate, the city's elite mingled, sipping expensive champagne. Edward, dressed in a tailored grey linen suit, stood at the center of attention, basking in the admiration of his peers. But the elegant atmosphere was abruptly shattered by a fragile, melancholic melody drifting through the air. It was the sound of a rustic wooden flute, completely out of place among the classical string quartet.
Edward frowned, his eyes scanning the manicured lawn. There, standing near the rose bushes, was a boy no older than ten. He wore a stained grey t-shirt and worn-out sneakers, looking like a ghost from a different world. The wealthy guests began to whisper, casting judgmental glances at the intruder. Embarrassed and furious, Edward marched toward the child, his voice cutting through the chatter.

The boy didn't run. Instead, he lowered the flute, his small frame trembling as tears welled in his large, green eyes.
blockquote>"Please, I need money," the boy pleaded, his voice cracking with desperation. "My mom is sick."Edward, desperate to maintain his flawless reputation, sneered coldly at the child's plea.

Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out an old, creased photograph, holding it out with a shaking hand. Edward snatched the paper, intending to tear it up. But as his eyes locked onto the faded image, his heart stopped. It was a photo of a young couple laughing on a beach, holding a newborn baby. The young man was Edward, twenty years ago, and the woman was Clara—his first love. Shocked, Edward whispered:
blockquote>"Where did you get this?"The boy looked up, his voice soft but clear.
