Previously: When eight-year-old Mia wandered into a wealthy gala begging for food, Daniel dismissed her. But when she touched the grand piano, the melody she played changed his life forever.

A Dark Secret Unveiled

The name echoed through the silent ballroom like a thunderclap. Clara Vance. Daniel stared at the little girl—Mia—and saw the unmistakable resemblance to his late sister. The same stubborn chin, the same deep blue eyes. Before Daniel could speak, a cold, authoritative voice cut through the stunned silence.

"This is a pathetic scam!"

Richard Vance, Daniel’s father and the family patriarch, stepped forward. His face was flushed with anger, his eyes darting nervously.

"Security, remove this street urchin immediately! She is trying to extort us."

The guards hesitated, looking between the patriarch and Daniel.

"Don't touch her!" Daniel commanded, his voice ringing with a power he didn't know he possessed. He knelt in front of Mia. "Mia, where is your mother now?"

Mia’s eyes welled with tears.

"She got very sick last month. Before she... she went to sleep, she told me to find the golden house and play her song. She gave me this."

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a tarnished silver locket. Daniel recognized it instantly; it was the heirloom he had gifted Clara on her sixteenth birthday. Inside was a tiny photograph of the siblings, and behind it, a tightly folded piece of paper.

Daniel unfolded the paper with trembling fingers. The elegant cursive was unmistakably Clara's.

"Daniel, if you are reading this, my time has run out, but Mia has found you. Our father is a monster. He didn't lose me to an accident. He banished me, threatened my life, and faked my death after I discovered he was laundering millions through our family charity. He ruined my life to save his own reputation. Please, protect my daughter."

A cold dread washed over Daniel. He looked up at his father, who was now sweating profusely under the golden chandeliers.

"Daniel, give me that paper," Richard demanded, his voice dropping to a threatening whisper. "You are ruining our family name over a lie."
