Previously: When a dirty, ragged young man interrupts a high-society dinner claiming he can cure a paralyzed billionaire in seconds, everyone laughs—until he touches the man's foot.

A Sudden Miracle

Arthur’s eyes went wide, his breath catching in his throat. For five long years, his lower body had been a frozen wasteland, completely devoid of feeling. But now, under the touch of this dirty stranger, a burning sensation of raw energy surged through his muscles. It wasn't pain; it was life.

"Three," Leo whispered, pressing his thumb firmly into the side of Arthur's ankle.

With a sharp intake of breath, Arthur did the impossible. He gripped the armrests of his high-tech wheelchair, his knuckles turning white, and slowly pushed himself upward. The entire restaurant fell into a dead, suffocating silence. Victoria’s glass slipped from her fingers, shattering on the floor, red wine spilling like blood across the white marble.

Arthur stood fully upright, trembling but stable, staring down at his own feet in absolute disbelief. "I can... I can feel them," he whispered, tears welling in his eyes. "I'm standing!"

The crowd erupted into stunned murmurs and gasps. Victoria quickly tried to recover, rushing to Arthur's side. "Arthur, darling, this is a miracle! This... this beggar must have used some cheap trick. Security, grab him before he steals anything!" she screamed, pointing a manicured finger at Leo.

But Leo stood up calmly, wiping his hands on his ragged jacket. "It’s no trick, Arthur. And she knows exactly why it worked." He pointed directly at Victoria. "The neural implant in your spine was never broken. It was intentionally locked via a software override to keep you paralyzed."

Victoria's face drained of color. "That's a lie! He's insane!" she shrieked.

"I wrote the original code for that implant," Leo revealed, his voice echoing through the silent room. "I was the lead developer at your tech firm before I was falsely accused of corporate espionage, ruined, and thrown onto the streets. And the person who framed me and took credit for my work was none other than your loving fiancée."
