Previously: After a tragic accident left her paralyzed, Clara thought she would never walk again—until a mysterious boy from her father's past arrived with a bucket of water and a silver medallion.

Richard’s breath hitched as his eyes locked onto the silver medallion. It was engraved with a unique crest—an oak tree with a broken branch. The color completely drained from his face, and for a moment, the powerful billionaire looked utterly defenseless.

"Where did you get that?" Richard whispered, his voice shaking with a mixture of dread and anger.

"From Helen," Toby replied, his voice steady despite the tension. "The woman whose life you ruined twenty years ago before you married into wealth."

The Secrets of the Past

Clara looked between her father and the stranger. Her mind was spinning. The warmth in her legs was still there, a miraculous tingling that gave her the strength to do the impossible. Letting go of her crutches, she let them clatter to the gravel. She took a tentative, shaky step forward on her own.

"Clara, no! Don't listen to him, he’s a con artist!" Richard yelled, trying to grab his daughter's arm.

"Don't touch me, Dad!" Clara cried, stepping back. "I felt the water. How did he do that?"

"It wasn't a miracle, Clara," Toby said softly. "My mother is a physical therapist. She knew the exact nerve points to stimulate. She spent years researching your injury because... because she knew who you were."

Richard stepped between them, his fists clenched. "Get off my property, boy, or I will have the police throw you in a cell where you'll rot!"

"Go ahead!" Toby shouted back, tears finally spilling from his eyes. "But it won't save Helen. She is dying of kidney failure, Richard. She doesn't want your money. She sent me here to find the daughter she was forced to give up!"

The revelation hit Clara like a physical blow. She stared at Toby, then at her father's panicked, guilty face.

"What is he talking about, Dad?" Clara demanded, her voice trembling. "Who is Helen? And why does he have that medallion?"

Richard refused to look her in the eye. The silence that followed was deafening, confirming the terrible truth.
