Previously: When a decorated Air Force officer returned home for Christmas, he never expected his mother to attack his pregnant wife—forcing him to make a split-second decision.

A Mother's Twisted Betrayal

The festive dining room was instantly transformed into a chaotic crime scene. Shards of porcelain and pools of red wine stained the pristine carpet. On the collapsed table, Evelyn groaned in pain, her patterned holiday sweater soaked in gravy and wine. Julian paid his mother no attention; his entire focus was on Clara, who was hyperventilating on the floor.

"Clara, look at me! Are you hurt? Is the baby okay?" Julian begged, his hands shaking as he checked her for injuries.

Evelyn dragged herself up from the ruins of the table, coughing and glaring at them with unbridled hatred. "She deserved it!" Evelyn screamed, pointing a trembling finger at Clara. "She is a liar, Julian! She is trying to trap you! Look at this!"

From her pocket, Evelyn produced a crumpled piece of paper and threw it onto the floor. Julian picked it up. It was a prenatal DNA paternity test, claiming that Julian had a zero percent chance of being the biological father.

"I saved you, Julian!" Evelyn shrieked. "She slept around while you were deployed! I intercepted her medical portal. I did this to protect your military benefits and our family name!"

Clara shook her head violently, sobbing. "Julian, I swear on my life, that isn't true! I have never been with anyone else!"

Julian stared at the document, his expression hardening. Slowly, he looked up at his mother. "You forged this," he said, his voice deadly calm. "I know you did, because I received my own genetic clearance from the military doctors before I left. Clara and I did a private test last month to check for hereditary conditions, and I personally received the secure digital results. The baby is mine, Mother."

Evelyn’s face drained of color as her elaborate web of lies collapsed instantly. She had forged the document to force a divorce, hoping Julian would marry a wealthy heiress she had chosen for him. But before Evelyn could speak, Clara let out a sharp cry of agony.

"Julian, something is wrong," Clara gasped, clutching her lower abdomen. "The baby... it's time."
