Previously: When a smug soldier humiliated Emily in the base gym, he thought it was just a harmless prank. But one look at her silver dog tag made his blood run cold.

The silence in the gym was deafening. The soldiers who had been snickering moments ago now looked at each other in sheer panic. They didn't know the exact details, but everyone recognized the legendary Silver Eagle insignia. It was the personal mark of General Vance, a man known for his zero-tolerance policy and immense power.

Tyler’s jaw hung open. His hands began to tremble slightly as he looked from the dog tag to Emily’s calm, stoic face.

"Stone... Emily... I didn't know," Tyler stammered, his voice dropping to a desperate whisper. "I swear, I didn't know you were related to—"
"That's Specialist Stone to you, Tyler," Emily interrupted, her voice cutting like a scalpel. "And you should worry less about who I am, and more about who is watching."

Without another word, Emily tucked the silver tag back beneath her shirt, grabbed her gear, and walked out of the gym, leaving Tyler standing frozen in a puddle of blue liquid.

The Inspection Begins

An hour later, the entire battalion was lined up on the scorching tarmac for a sudden base inspection. The atmosphere was incredibly tense. A fleet of black SUVs pulled up, and out stepped General Jonathan Vance in his pristine dress uniform, the four stars on his shoulders gleaming in the harsh afternoon sun. Walking a half-step behind him was Colonel Vance—Tyler's uncle.

As the General began walking down the ranks, Tyler stood three spaces down from Emily. He was sweating profusely, his face pale, his eyes darting toward Emily in silent, terrified pleading.

The General stopped directly in front of Emily. His sharp eyes immediately noticed the faint blue stain on her collar and the dampness of her hair. His brow furrowed, and a heavy, suffocating silence fell over the tarmac.

"Specialist," General Vance barked, his voice echoing across the parade grounds. "Explain the state of your uniform."
