The ballroom fell into a stunned silence as Chloe held her pose, her body trembling not from weakness, but from the raw emotion pouring out of her. The whispers began like a low hum, spreading quickly through the crowd of high-society elites. Victoria’s face twisted in a mixture of rage and terror. She took a step forward, her silver gown rustling loudly in the quiet room.

"What is the meaning of this?"

she demanded, her voice shrill.

"She is a server! Security, remove this woman immediately! She is ruining the gala!"

Two burly security guards moved quickly toward the spotlight, but before they could lay a hand on Chloe, Alex stepped forward, raising his hand to stop them.

"Stand down,"

he commanded, his voice carrying an authority that no one in the room dared to question. He looked at Victoria, his eyes cold and devoid of the affection she had spent years cultivating.

"She isn't ruining anything. In fact, she is the main event. I was the one who hired her."

Victoria gasped, her hand flying to her chest.

"Alex, what are you saying? This is our engagement gala! Why would you humiliate me like this for a disgraced waitress?"

Alex reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a sleek black USB drive, holding it up for the entire room to see.

"Because three years ago, Chloe didn't just have a clumsy accident before her big debut,"

Alex announced, his voice echoing through the state-of-the-art sound system.

"Her pointe shoes were deliberately sabotaged with crushed glass. And I finally found the security footage from the theater's old archive that proves exactly who entered her dressing room that night."

He gestured to the massive projection screens behind the grand piano, which suddenly flickered to life, showing a grainy but unmistakable video of Victoria slipping into Chloe's dressing room with a small velvet pouch.
