A Sudden Storm in the Chateau Courtyard

The sprawling chateau grounds were supposed to be a place of celebration, but for Cecelia, they had become a gilded cage. Clutching her pregnant belly under her teal lace dress, she tried to step away from her husband, Marshall. His face was twisted in a mask of pure rage, his charcoal grey suit sharp but his actions monstrous. He did not care about the guests inside or the life growing within her. With a sudden, violent lurch, Marshall grabbed her by the hair, dragging her to the gravel ground.

"You think you can just walk away from me and take what is mine?" Marshall snarled, his grip tightening.

Cecelia screamed, her hands desperately shielding her stomach. Beside them, Shirley, elegant in a pale gold dress, cried out in horror. She lunged forward, grabbing Marshall's arm, trying to break his grip. "Stop it, Marshall! She is pregnant! Have you lost your mind?" Shirley sobbed, but her fragile strength was no match for his fury.

Just as Cecelia felt her strength fading, a figure emerged from the shadow of the stone archway. Augustine, an older man with striking white hair, wearing a dark grey trench coat, sprinted across the courtyard with fierce determination. Before Marshall could react, Augustine delivered a powerful, sweeping punch that sent Marshall crashing to the gravel.

The courtyard fell into a tense, breathless silence, broken only by Marshall's groans of pain. Augustine paid him no further attention. He immediately dropped to his knees beside Cecelia, his eyes filled with a mixture of intense relief and profound sorrow.

"I've got you, sweetheart. You're safe now," Augustine whispered, wrapping his arms around her.

Cecelia clung to him, weeping. Though she did not know his name, his warm, protective embrace felt inexplicably familiar, like a long-lost shelter in the middle of a brutal storm.
