Previously: When Chloe's husband burst into her hospital room demanding she hand over their newborn baby, she thought she was helpless—until an older stranger made a life-changing decision.

The Trustee’s Intervention

The tension in the hospital room was thick enough to cut with a knife. Julian recovered his balance, straightening his navy jacket with trembling, furious hands. He sneered at the older man who had dared to interfere. "Do you have any idea who I am?" Julian hissed, stepping forward again. "This is my wife, and that is my child. Get out of our way before I have you arrested for assault!"

But Arthur didn't flinch. He stood like an immovable wall, his silver hair and charcoal suit giving him an air of undeniable authority. "I know exactly who you are, Julian," Arthur replied, his voice calm but dripping with steel. "And more importantly, I know what you are trying to do. I suggest you step back before security arrives."

Nurse Sarah finally broke from her stupor and pressed the emergency alert. "Security is on their way," she announced, her voice shaking but determined. Julian glanced toward the hallway, realizing his time was running out. He pointed a menacing finger at Chloe.

"You think you can hide behind this old man?" Julian yelled. "This baby isn't mine! You cheated on me, Chloe! I'm demanding a DNA test, and when it proves I'm not the father, you won't get a single penny from the estate!"

Chloe gasped, her heart sinking at the sheer malice of his lie. But Arthur simply raised an eyebrow. "A DNA test is a wonderful idea, Julian," Arthur said calmly. "But you seem to have forgotten one crucial detail. I am Arthur Vance, the senior trustee of your family's estate. And your father left very specific instructions regarding behavior that brings disrepute to the family name."

Julian’s face drained of color. The name Arthur Vance was legendary in his family, but he had never met the man in person. The realization that he had just assaulted his wife in front of the head trustee sent a visible wave of panic through him.
