Julian froze, his face draining of color.

Arthur stepped forward, pulling a legal document from his breast pocket.

"You married my daughter for her family's wealth, Julian. I knew it from the day you proposed. I let this marriage continue only because Clara loved you, hoping you would prove me wrong. But today, you showed your true colors. You attacked a woman who just gave birth to your son."
