Previously: At a glamorous charity gala, Arthur decided to humiliate his wife Evelyn by auctioning her off for ten dollars. But when a mysterious billionaire bid one million, everything changed.

The tension in the ballroom was palpable. Arthur’s face turned a deep, angry shade of crimson. He gripped the microphone so tightly his knuckles turned white. Trying to save face, he forced a laugh. "Well, it seems we have a very generous benefactor tonight! But my wife is not actually for sale."

A Confrontation in the Shadows

Leo didn't back down. He walked past the whispering guests directly to Evelyn, offering her his arm. "Are you alright?" he asked softly, his eyes filled with genuine concern. Evelyn, still trembling from the shock, nodded and took his arm, feeling a sense of safety she hadn't felt in years.

Arthur stormed off the stage, intercepting them before they could reach the exit. "What do you think you're doing?" Arthur hissed, glaring at Leo. "Who do you think you are, interfering in my marriage? Evelyn, get back to the table."

"She is going nowhere with you," Leo said, stepping defensively in front of Evelyn.

"This is none of your business, boy!" Arthur snarled. "I am Arthur Vance. I can ruin you with a single phone call."

Leo let out a cold, humorless chuckle. "Actually, Arthur, I know exactly who you are. And you should know who I am. I am Leo Sterling, the majority shareholder of Sterling Acquisitions."

Arthur gasped, his bravado instantly evaporating. Sterling Acquisitions was the conglomerate currently negotiating to buy Arthur's failing real estate firm.

"Your company is on the brink of bankruptcy, Arthur. And I was about to bail you out. But after seeing how you treat your wife, the deal is officially off."

Evelyn looked at Arthur, seeing the absolute terror in his eyes. For years, he had kept her trapped by telling her she was nothing without his money. Now, his empire was crumbling because of his own cruelty.
