He Cornered His Terrified Wife in a Busy Mall, Unaware Her Sister Was Watching
Previously: When Kyle pinned his wife Vanessa against a mall pillar, he thought he had total control. He didn't expect Vanessa's estranged sister, Christina, to strike back and expose his darkest secret.
The Battle in the Security Office
Officer Green led the tense group back to the mall’s private security office, away from the prying eyes of the holiday crowds. Kyle, dusting off his grey suit and nursing a bruised rib, immediately tried to take control of the narrative. He assumed his most charming, professional demeanor, pointing an accusatory finger at Christina.
"Officer, this woman is completely unstable," Kyle claimed, his voice smooth and manipulative. "She just assaulted me. My wife, Vanessa, has been suffering from severe psychiatric episodes, and I was simply trying to guide her safely to our car. This stranger attacked us out of nowhere."
Vanessa sat on a vinyl chair, shivering despite her warm cream coat. For months, Kyle had been telling her she was losing her mind. She had been experiencing sudden dizzy spells, memory lapses, and extreme fatigue. She had almost begun to believe him. She looked up at Christina, her estranged sister whom she hadn't spoken to in three years—ever since Kyle had convinced Vanessa that Christina was trying to steal her inheritance.
But Christina didn't back down. She stood tall in her red coat, her eyes flashing with defiance as she pulled a sleek black tablet and a plastic baggie from her large purse. Inside the baggie was a small amber prescription bottle with Kyle’s name on it, but the pills inside were highly potent sedatives that Vanessa had never been prescribed.
"I am not a stranger, Officer Green. I am Vanessa's sister," Christina declared, her voice steady and resolute. "And Kyle is a criminal. For the past six months, I’ve been investigating why my sister suddenly cut me off and fell so ill. This bottle contains heavy sedatives. Kyle has been secretly slipping them into Vanessa's morning tea to make her appear mentally incompetent so he could seize her family trust."
Vanessa gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. The pieces of the puzzle suddenly began to fall into place. The bitter taste in her tea, the sudden fog that clouded her mind every afternoon, and Kyle's relentless pressure to sign the power of attorney documents—it was all a calculated trap.
