My Husband Kicked Me to Protect Our Baby, But the Broken Wall Revealed a Secret
Previously: When Jack kicked his wife Sarah to protect their baby, he thought he was a hero. But as Sarah crashed through the drywall, a dark family secret spilled out.
The Hidden Betrayal
As the thick plaster dust began to settle, the nursery was filled with the heartbreaking sound of baby Toby’s cries and Sarah’s agonizing groans. Sarah lay on the floor of the adjoining closet, covered in white dust, clutching her ribs in agonizing pain. Jack took a step forward, his heart sinking into his stomach as reality began to pierce through his adrenaline-fueled panic.
"Sarah..."he whispered, his voice trembling with instant remorse. But before he could reach her, Martha grabbed his arm, her face twisted in a mask of manufactured fear.
"Don't go near her, Jack! She’s unstable. We need to take the baby and leave right now!"she urged, her voice dripping with urgency.
But Jack’s eyes were no longer on his mother. They were fixed on the shattered drywall partition. The violent impact had not only broken the wall, but it had also knocked down a hidden panel inside the closet ceiling. Spilled across the dusty floor, right next to Sarah’s bruised body, was a large black duffel bag that had burst open. Inside, scattered among the plaster ruins, were items that made Jack's blood run cold. There was a forged birth certificate for Toby, a fake passport with Martha’s photo and the baby's face, and a one-way plane ticket to Europe dated for that very evening.
Sarah coughed, spitting out plaster dust as she looked up at her husband with tear-filled eyes.
"I found it, Jack,"she gasped, her voice cracked and weak.
"I found her bag in the wall. She was going to kidnap Toby today. She attacked me because I caught her."Jack stared at the documents, then at his mother, the horrifying truth finally piercing through his blindness. Martha's face drained of color as she realized her elaborate, months-long plot to steal her grandson had been physically shattered open.
