The ballroom fell into a stunned silence as Michael marched down the center aisle, his eyes locked onto Daniel. Daniel’s face drained of color, while Victoria tried to maintain her composure, her grip tightening around her wine glass.

"Emily, what is the meaning of this?"

Daniel stammered, his voice cracking.

"This is our wedding reception. Why is your family’s attorney here?"

Emily stood up, brushing the dust off her pristine lace gown. She no longer looked like a fragile victim; her posture was straight, her eyes blazing with determination.

"It’s simple, Daniel. This marriage is over before it even begins,"

she announced, her voice echoing clearly through the microphone.

Michael opened his briefcase and pulled out a thick stack of legal documents. He handed them directly to Daniel.

"These are formal charges of grand larceny and fraud, as well as an immediate petition for marriage annulment,"

Michael declared.

Victoria gasped, stepping forward defensively.

"This is ridiculous! On what grounds? You signed the prenuptial agreement, Emily! You agreed to support Daniel’s business!"

she shrieked.

"No, Victoria,"

Emily replied coldly.

"I signed the prenuptial agreement that protected my assets. The document your son tried to slip into my paperwork—the one forging my signature to transfer my father's trust fund—was intercepted forty-eight hours ago."

Emily explained to the shocked crowd how she had discovered their plot on Daniel’s laptop. They had planned to drain her inheritance to pay off their massive family debts. But instead of canceling the wedding, Emily and Michael had decided to let them walk right into a trap, exposing their greed in front of all their prestigious peers.
