My Husband Shoved Me for His Mother, So I Froze Their Entire Fortune
Previously: When Mariana's husband chose his manipulative mother over her and turned physically aggressive, he had no idea she held the keys to their entire empire. Her next phone call ruined them.
A Rude Awakening
For years, Ryan and Eleanor had acted as though they were the rightful rulers of the Harrison dynasty. In truth, the dynasty belonged entirely to Mariana. She was the sole heiress to the Vanguard global estate, a fact she had kept quiet to protect Ryan’s fragile ego. When they married, her father had insisted on a strict prenuptial agreement and a series of emergency clauses. These clauses allowed Mariana to immediately revoke all spousal access to her family's massive trust funds, properties, and corporate assets in the event of physical or emotional endangerment.
The morning after the incident, Ryan woke up expecting Mariana to return groveling, as she usually did after their arguments. He and Eleanor sat in the sunlit breakfast nook, sipping expensive espresso.
"You handled her perfectly, darling," Eleanor purred, patting his hand. "She needs to know her place."
Their delusion shattered an hour later. Ryan’s personal assistant called in a panic, stating that Ryan's black corporate card had been declined at a high-stakes charity auction. Confused and annoyed, Ryan tried to use his personal credit card to pay for a luxury watch shipment. Declined. He logged into his bank portal, only to find a bold, red message stating his accounts were locked.
Even worse, a courier arrived at the mansion gates with an urgent legal notice. The Harrison estate—the very mansion they lived in—was owned by Mariana's family trust. They had exactly forty-eight hours to vacate the premises.
Panic seized Ryan. He frantically dialed Mariana's number, his previous bravado completely vanishing. When she finally answered, his voice cracked with desperation.
"Mariana! What is the meaning of this? My cards are declined, and some joke of a lawyer is telling me we have to leave our home!"
Mariana’s voice was devoid of any warmth.
"It was never your home, Ryan. And those cards were paid for by my father's hard work. You chose your mother's cruelty over your wife. Now, you can let her pay your bills."
”Now, you can let her pay your bills."
