Thomas spun around to face Claire, his breathing suddenly shallow. The smug arrogance that had defined him for years began to crack, replaced by a rising panic. He looked at the guards, who stood in a rigid, protective semi-circle around Claire, completely ignoring his presence.

Thomas scoffed, though a bead of sweat rolled down his temple.
"I am the trustee! My father-in-law left me in charge of the estate when he passed!"He pointed a trembling finger at Claire.
"She is just a dependent. She has nothing!"
Claire stepped out from behind Marcus, her posture straight and her gaze unwavering. The fear that had paralyzed her for years had vanished, replaced by a cold, burning resolve.
"You always did have a habit of not reading the fine print, Thomas,"she said softly, her voice echoing in the vast dining room. She reached into the pocket of her white silk robe and pulled out a small black USB drive, tossing it onto the polished dining table.
Marcus placed a legal document next to the drive. Thomas’s eyes ded between the paper and the USB.
"What is that?"he whispered. Claire smiled, a genuine, powerful expression he hadn't seen in years.
"That is the activation clause of my father's trust,"she explained.
"And that drive contains every single transaction of your embezzlement over the last three years, along with the security footage of what you did to me tonight. The moment I pressed that red button, it didn't just call Marcus. It sent everything to the federal prosecutors."
