Previously: When Chloe walked into her bedroom and found her best friend Ashley under the sheets, her world shattered. But she wasn't just going to cry—she was going to make them pay.

The Tables Turn

For a long, agonizing moment, the bedroom was silent. Then, slowly, the trembling in Chloe’s shoulders stopped. The tears they expected to see never fell. Instead, Chloe let out a soft, dry laugh that made Marcus’s smirk falter. She took a step closer, her eyes turning as cold as ice.

"You really think you’re the smartest man in the room, don't you, Marcus?" Chloe said, her voice steady and deadly quiet.

She walked over to her nightstand, opened the drawer, and pulled out her phone. "My father didn't build a multi-million dollar business by being gullible, and he certainly didn't raise a foolish daughter," she continued. "I noticed the discrepancies in the company accounts three weeks ago. And my father's corporate attorney, Arthur, has been my mentor since I was a teenager."

Marcus’s face began to lose its color. "What are you talking about?" he demanded, his grip tightening on Ashley’s shoulder.

Chloe tapped her phone screen, displaying a live feed of the bedroom. "I had hidden cameras installed the day I realized my jewelry was missing from my vanity. I have hours of high-definition footage of the two of you in this room, including your little confession just now about tricking me into signing documents while I was heavily medicated. That is called signature fraud, Marcus."

Before he could respond, heavy footsteps echoed up the stairs. Two uniformed sheriff's deputies stepped into the room, followed by Arthur, who held a certified court order. Arthur smiled warmly at Chloe before turning a stern gaze toward the trembling couple.

"Marcus Vance, Ashley Miller, you are hereby served with an immediate restraining order and eviction notice," Arthur announced. "Furthermore, the power of attorney you attempted to execute was legally revoked two weeks ago, and all transfers have been frozen under suspicion of grand larceny and fraud."

The deputies stood by as Marcus and Ashley, stripped of their arrogance and their clothes, were forced to grab whatever they could carry and leave the premises immediately. Watching them scramble out into the cold night, Chloe felt a profound sense of peace. She had lost a cheating husband and a fake friend, but she had saved her father's legacy and reclaimed her absolute power.

The End
