I Confronted a Dangerous Biker Gang to Uncover the Truth About My Missing Husband
Previously: When Helen walked into the notorious Iron Skulls clubhouse, she knew she was risking her life. But showing the massive biker her hidden vest changed everything.
Secrets in the Safe
Without another word, Rex gripped Helen’s elbow—not with violence, but with a desperate urgency. He guided her past the whispering crowd of bikers and into the cramped, wood-paneled back office, slamming the heavy door behind them and sliding the deadbolt into place. The room smelled of old paper and whiskey. Rex paced the floor, his massive boots making the boards groan under his weight. He looked at Helen as if she were a ghost risen from the grave.
"Jimmy was my mentor," Rex said, his voice a harsh whisper. "He founded this club. But thirty years ago, we were told he stole the club's emergency fund and abandoned us. We hunted for him, but he vanished."
Helen’s eyes flashed with anger. "Jimmy would never steal from his brothers," she insisted, her voice trembling with emotion. "He loved this club. He loved me. He was set up."
Rex stopped pacing. He stared at her for a long moment, then walked over to a heavy iron safe in the corner of the room. He spun the combination dial with shaking hands and pulled out a dusty, yellowed envelope. He brought it over to the desk and spread the contents under the dim desk lamp. They were bank records from three decades ago, alongside a signed confession that had never been shown to the club.
"You're right," Rex muttered, his face pale. "It wasn't Jimmy. It was Marcus. He embezzled the money to buy out the local rivals, framed Jimmy, and took over the presidency. But there's something else you need to know, Helen. Marcus didn't just frame him."
Helen felt the room tilt. Marcus had been her neighbor for thirty years, the man who had comforted her, helped her pay her bills, and pretended to be her savior. "What did he do to my husband?" she whispered, fearing the worst.
"Jimmy isn't dead," Rex said, leaning in close. "Marcus has been keeping him locked away in a private asylum upstate under a false name, paying the facility to keep him drugged so he could never tell the truth. And Marcus is coming here tonight."
”And Marcus is coming here tonight."
