I Found My Lost Husband on the Streets and Proposed in the Rain
Previously: Amelia finds her long-lost husband Marcus living on the streets with amnesia. When she proposes to help him remember, her greedy uncle arrives to stop him from reclaiming his life.
A Mind Restored
For a tense, agonizing second, the only sound was the patter of rain on the pavement. Marcus stared at the pen in his hand, then slowly looked up. The wild, chaotic look in his eyes suddenly vanished, replaced by a cold, piercing intensity that Arthur had not seen in three years.
Marcus dropped the pen. It clattered against the wet asphalt.

"I remember," Marcus said, his voice no longer a rasp, but deep, steady, and commanding.
Arthur froze, his face turning pale.
"I remember the bridge, Arthur," Marcus continued, stepping forward. The guards, startled by his sudden shift in posture, stepped back. "I remember your face in the headlights of the truck that rammed us. And I remember the offshore bank accounts you used to pay off the driver."
Arthur’s confidence crumbled instantly.
"You... you're bluffing! You're insane!" Arthur stammered, backing toward his car.
But Marcus held up the ring box, slipping the platinum band onto his finger. It fit perfectly.
"I am Marcus Vance," he declared, his voice echoing with absolute authority. "And you are under arrest."
As if on cue, the sirens that Amelia had secretly summoned minutes earlier echoed down the street. Red and blue lights painted the wet asphalt in brilliant colors as three police cruisers blocked the alley. The officers emerged, quickly arresting Arthur and his accomplices for conspiracy and attempted murder.
Amelia ran to Marcus, throwing her arms around him, weeping tears of pure joy. Marcus held her close, burying his face in her honey-blonde hair, the long nightmare finally over.
"You found me," he whispered softly. "You brought me back."
Sometimes, the mind can forget the details of the past, but the heart never forgets the one it truly loves.
