I Rescued a Freezing Wolf, and Its Pack Followed Me Home to Face My Betrayer
Previously: When Marcus risked his life to pull a drowning wolf from a frozen lake, he thought he was just doing the right thing. He had no idea the pack would follow him home.
The cabin door, which had been left slightly ajar, was violently kicked open. Standing on the threshold was the massive silver wolf Marcus had saved only an hour before. Her fur was still damp, but her eyes burned with fierce protectorate energy. Behind her, the doorway filled with the dark, snarling faces of her pack.
Thomas and his thugs froze in sheer terror. The wolves didn't just howl; they flooded into the cabin, their fangs bared, surrounding the intruders with military precision. The two thugs immediately dropped their hands, backing away from Marcus.

The Pack's Justice
"What is this? Get them away from me!" Thomas screamed, his voice cracking with panic as the silver wolf stepped closer, growling directly at his throat.
Marcus slowly stood up. The wolves paid him no mind, keeping their focus entirely on the intruders. Marcus walked over to Thomas, took the rifle from his trembling hands, and picked up the deed documents.
"I think it's time for you to leave my mountain, Thomas," Marcus said calmly. "And if I ever see you or your men here again, I won't be the one you have to negotiate with."
Terrified for their lives, Thomas and his men slowly backed out of the cabin, keeping their hands raised. The wolf pack escorted them all the way to the edge of the property, ensuring they fled down the mountain and never returned.
Once the intruders were gone, the silver wolf walked back to the cabin porch. She looked at Marcus one last time, letting out a soft, reassuring whine. Marcus reached out, gently patting her head. In saving her life, he had saved his own. He realized then that while humanity had betrayed him, the wild had given him a second chance at life and a pack of his own.
