I Risked My Life to Save a Freezing Wolf and Discovered a Shocking Alliance
Previously: When Wyatt risks his life to rescue a drowning wolf from a frozen lake, he finds himself trapped between a ruthless enemy and a pack of wild predators.
A Deadly Ultimatum on the Ice
Wyatt lay motionless on the frozen lake, his chest heaving as the wolf pack slowly closed the distance. The young wolf he had just rescued lay shivering beside him, emitting a low whine. Wyatt braced himself for the worst, expecting the pack to defend their own by attacking him. But before the alpha could make its move, the deafening roar of snowmobiles shattered the silence.
Two vehicles tore out of the fog, kicking up sprays of ice. The riders stopped just yards away. Wyatt recognized them instantly. It was Carl Henderson, a ruthless local developer, and his enforcer, Brody. Henderson had been trying to buy Wyatt’s land for a massive commercial resort, but Wyatt had repeatedly refused to sell.

Henderson stepped off his snowmobile, unslinging a high-powered hunting rifle.
"Well, Wyatt, I didn't think I'd find you out here playing hero to vermin," Henderson sneered, his voice dripping with malice. "This makes things very convenient."
Wyatt slowly stood up, placing himself between Henderson’s rifle and the wet, shivering wolf. "You're trespassing, Carl. Get off my land."
"This land won't be yours for much longer," Henderson replied, a cold smile spreading across his face. He reached into his heavy coat and pulled out a folded document. "I have the deed transfer right here. You sign it, and you walk away. If you don't..." He gestured with the rifle toward the shivering wolf, then aimed it directly at Wyatt's chest. "Well, a tragic hunting accident in a blizzard is very hard to disprove."
Brody chuckled, stepping forward with a pair of heavy iron traps. The wolf pack in the fog growled, their hackles raised, but Henderson paid them no mind, convinced his rifle gave him absolute authority.
"You have ten seconds, Wyatt," Henderson warned, his finger tightening on the trigger. "Sign the papers, or this lake becomes your grave."
