I Smashed My Mistress's Coffin with an Axe, Revealing a Terrifying Family Secret
The Smashed Coffin
The atmosphere inside the softly lit funeral parlor was thick with grief and the heavy scent of lilies. Eleanor, a seventy-year-old matriarch in a delicate black lace dress, sat in the front row, her eyes red from weeping for her beloved daughter, Emma. But the somber silence was shattered when the heavy oak doors swung open. Mia, the family’s twenty-two-year-old maid, stood in the doorway, her light-brown hair in a disheveled ponytail, wearing her light blue uniform and white apron. In her trembling hands, she carried a heavy iron wood-splitting axe.
The mourners gasped as Mia marched down the aisle, her eyes wild with a mixture of terror and determination. Before anyone could stop her, she raised the axe and swung it down with all her might, smashing the pristine white wooden coffin right on its mahogany stands. Splinters of wood flew through the air.
"Stop the funeral, she's not dead!" Mia screamed desperately, her voice echoing off the high ceilings.
Arthur, Emma’s fifty-eight-year-old husband, leaped from his seat, his navy suit sharp but his expression twisted in fury. "Have you lost your mind?!" he yelled, rushing toward her. "Get this insane girl out of here!"
But Mia didn't back down. She pointed the axe at the shattered lid.
"I heard her! I heard her crying!"she tearfully pleaded.
"I washed her hair this morning, her hands were warm. Dead people aren't warm, Arthur!"
Suddenly, a chilling sound filled the room. From the dark, splintered hole in the coffin lid, a faint, muffled female voice whispered, "No... don't do this to me..."
Arthur froze, his face draining of all color. He looked around in sudden panic. "Did you hear that?" he stammered. Eleanor stepped forward, her hand trembling as she touched the broken wood.
"My God... Emma?"she gasped.
”Emma?" she gasped.
