Officer Miller watched the emotional reunion in utter shock. Max was a highly trained, aggressive tactical dog who rarely tolerated strangers, yet here he was, whining softly and gently nudging Sarah’s pregnant belly. When Sarah finally looked up and revealed her identity as David’s widow, Miller’s face went pale. He knelt beside her, his voice dropping to an urgent whisper. He explained that before David’s passing, he had left a sealed envelope with Miller, containing the key to a secret safety deposit box. David had warned Miller to keep it far away from his greedy family, knowing they would try to leave Sarah with nothing.

"Officer, this woman is currently under legal investigation for the theft of estate assets. If you assist her, we will file a formal complaint that will cost you your badge,"

the lawyer threatened coldly.

Sarah felt her heart sink into her shoes. Julian’s wealth and legal power seemed absolute, and she couldn't bear the thought of getting an innocent officer fired. She looked at Miller, tears streaming down her face, preparing to walk away and accept her defeat.
