A Kind Vendor Saved A Hungry Girl, Years Later She Returns To Rescue Him
Previously: When young Lucas gave a crying little girl a free ice cream cone, he never expected anything in return. Decades later, his bankrupt father is rescued by a powerful corporate savior.
The Confrontation on the Curb
Just as Thomas buried his face in his worn hands, a sleek grey luxury car pulled up to the curb. The door opened, and Emily stepped out, her presence instantly commanding the attention of the small crowd that had gathered. But she wasn't the only one arriving. From the opposite direction, a ruthless local developer named Mr. Vance approached, flanked by two lawyers carrying eviction papers. Vance sneered at the sight of the old ice cream cart.
"Time's up, old man,"Vance barked.
"This corner belongs to my firm now. Pack up your trash and get off my property."
Lucas stepped forward, his fists clenched in desperation.
"My father built this business from nothing! You manipulated the bank to ruin us!"he shouted, but Vance’s security guard stepped in, roughing Lucas up and pushing him back onto the pavement. Thomas wept openly, cradling his head. It seemed like the end of their lives. But before Vance could sign the final physical eviction order, Emily stepped directly between Lucas and the security guard, her eyes flashing with cold anger.
"Touch them again, and you’ll be escorted off this property in handcuffs,"Emily warned, her voice cutting through the humid air like a knife. Vance laughed aloud, waving his papers.
"And who are you supposed to be? Some high-priced lawyer? It's too late. I hold the deed to this land."
Emily calmly reached into her leather briefcase and pulled out a thick stack of legal documents. She didn't look at Vance; instead, she looked down at Thomas, offering him a warm, reassuring smile.
"You don't own this land, Mr. Vance,"Emily said, turning her icy gaze back to the developer.
"Because as of nine o'clock this morning, my investment firm purchased the parent company of your entire development group. Which means, quite simply, that I am now your boss—and you are fired."
