Previously: Sentenced to death in the royal arena, a young warrior faces a monstrous predator—only for a hidden scar to reveal a truth that shakes the entire kingdom.

The Light of Truth

High Cleric Thomas spun around, his face pale as he clutched the leather satchel to his chest.

"You are too late, Leo,"
he hissed, his voice trembling.
"No one will believe a disgraced gladiator over the word of the crown."
But Leo didn't argue. With a swift, practiced movement, he lunged forward, wrenching the satchel from the Cleric's grasp and pulling out the parchment sealed with the royal crest.

Before Thomas could react, King Robert burst into the corridor, his golden sword stained with the dust of the arena. He lunged at Leo with blind fury, swinging his blade in a desperate bid to silence the truth forever. Leo parried the blow with a discarded guard's shield, the force of the impact vibrating through his arm. But instead of continuing the fight, Leo threw the parchment high into the air, right into the hands of the Captain of the Royal Guard, who had just rushed into the corridor with a dozen heavily armed soldiers.

The Captain caught the document, his eyes scanning the royal seal and the treacherous terms written upon it. He looked up at King Robert, his expression hardening.

"My liege,"
the Captain said, his voice cold as steel,
"this is high treason against the kingdom."
Robert froze, his sword hovering in mid-air as the realization of his defeat washed over him. The soldiers immediately surrounded the King and the High Cleric, disarming them both without a single blow.

The crowd in the arena erupted into deafening cheers as Leo emerged back into the sunlight, holding the royal seal high. The giant black lion walked calmly by his side, no longer a beast of execution, but a symbol of justice restored. King Robert and Thomas were led away in chains, destined to face the very judgment they had designed for others. Leo looked down at the scar on his arm, realizing that a single act of mercy years ago had not only saved his life, but had saved the entire kingdom from ruin. True strength lies not in the power to destroy, but in the courage to protect and show mercy when it is needed most.
