Sitting at the defense table, dressed in her classic black-and-white maid's uniform, Clara looked incredibly small. Tears streamed down her face as she wept silently, covering her eyes with her hands to shield herself from the cold, judgmental glares of the high-society onlookers.

Sitting in the spectator pews, twenty-year-old Liam felt a fire burning in his chest.
