Within less than two minutes, the landline phone at the manager’s station began to ring violently. Vincent stumbled backward, his hands shaking as he picked up the receiver. The voice on the other end was so loud and furious that even the nearby customers could hear the shouting. It was corporate headquarters. Vincent was terminated, effective immediately, and ordered to vacate the premises before security was called.

As a disgraced Vincent slunk into the back room to pack his things, a round of applause erupted from the diners. Thomas turned his full attention back to Dylan, who was still standing there in his green tee and black gloves, completely overwhelmed by the rapid turn of events.

"What is your dream, son?"

Thomas asked gently, placing a hand on the young man's shoulder.

Dylan looked down, a bit embarrassed. "I wanted to go to medical school, sir. That's why I've been working two jobs. But it's just too expensive."

Thomas smiled warmly, his eyes shining with gratitude.

"Well, Dylan, you've already proven you have the instincts of a great doctor. My medical foundation is going to sponsor your entire college and medical school tuition. And starting tomorrow, you have a paid internship at my hospital."
