Sarah looked at Mark, confused.

"I appreciate what you're trying to do, sir, but Arthur owns this place. There's nothing you can do. I need to go home and figure out how to pay my bills,"

she said softly, wiping a stray tear from her cheek.

Mark smiled warmly, shaking his head.

"Arthur doesn't own this diner, Sarah. He only manages it. My name is Mark Sterling. I am the CEO of Sterling Holdings. We actually purchased this entire restaurant franchise group last month. I was visiting today incognito to inspect the location,"

he revealed, leaving Sarah completely speechless.

Mark led Sarah and Lily back inside the diner. Arthur was standing by the cash register, looking smugly satisfied with himself. When he saw Sarah return, his face twisted in annoyance.

"I thought I told you to get out!"

he yelled.

"And you, sir, can leave too if you're going to bring this garbage back into my lobby!"

Mark stepped forward, pulling a gold-rimmed business card from his pocket and placing it firmly on the counter.

"Arthur, you are terminated, effective immediately. Security will be here in ten minutes to escort you off the property. You will never manage a business under the Sterling brand again,"

Mark said with absolute authority. Arthur’s face drained of color as he stared at the card, realizing his career was over.

Turning to Sarah, Mark’s expression softened.

"Sarah, I want to offer you a new position. I want to hire you as Lily's personal companion and coordinator. I will double your current salary, and my company will fully fund your dream to go to college for speech therapy. What you did today was priceless."

Tears of pure joy streamed down Sarah's face as she knelt down to hug Lily, who whispered,

"Please say yes."
