Richard let out a mocking laugh, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I don't care if you're the Pope, pal. This kid is my employee, and he's done. I run this place, and my rules are absolute,"

he sneered, gesturing toward the exit. He thought he was the ultimate authority in this small-town diner, completely oblivious to the storm that was about to break over his head.

Dr. Michael Carter didn't even look at Richard. His focus remained entirely on the phone pressed to his ear, his voice calm but dripping with immense gravity.

"Arthur, I'm at your downtown franchise. Your manager just fired a heroic young man for saving my son's life. I want you to handle this immediately,"

he said. The mention of the name 'Arthur' made Richard freeze. The entire regional chain of diners was owned by Arthur Pendelton, a notoriously strict billionaire who valued public relations and ethics above all else.

A tense silence fell over the diner. Even the other patrons had stopped eating, watching the drama unfold. Richard's face slowly drained of color as Charles tapped his phone, switching it to speakerphone. A booming, furious voice echoed through the quiet restaurant.

"Richard? Are you on the line?"

Arthur Pendelton's voice was unmistakable. Richard began to stutter, his arrogant demeanor instantly evaporating into sheer terror.
