Justice and Healing

"Don't even think about it,"

Leo muttered, his voice deadly calm. He pulled out his phone and dialed the police, keeping a watchful eye on Victoria as she sank back onto the floor, realizing her escape was impossible. Within minutes, sirens wailed in the distance, growing louder until red and blue lights flashed through the mansion's tall windows.

The police stormed the foyer, immediately securing Victoria. As they handcuffed her and led her away in her ruined scarlet gown, she screamed curses at Leo, but he didn't even look at her. His focus was entirely on his mother. Paramedics arrived soon after, tending to Martha's bruises and ensuring she was stable. Thankfully, her injuries were superficial, though the emotional scars would take much longer to heal.

In the quiet aftermath, Leo sat with Martha on the porch, holding her hand. The bouquet of white lilies lay forgotten in the foyer, but a new sense of peace settled over the colonial home. The physical damage to the mahogany staircase could be repaired, but the truth had finally saved them from a silent killer.

Leo looked at his mother, promising to stay by her side and help her rebuild. They had survived the ultimate betrayal, and though their hearts were heavy, they knew that justice would finally be served. True strength is not found in elegant disguises, but in the fierce love that protects family at all costs.
