Previously: When a wealthy, paralyzed man mockingly offers a million dollars to a tattered stranger who claims he can heal him in seconds, he never expects to actually stand up.

A Dark Confession

Arthur stood frozen, staring down at his feet in disbelief. He took a tentative step, then another. It was a miracle. But his joy was instantly cut short as a painful gasp echoed through the room. Leo collapsed onto the floor, clutching his own legs, his face pale and slick with sweat. Arthur watched in horror as the young man’s limbs seemed to lose all strength, withering right before his eyes.

"What... what did you do?" Arthur whispered, kneeling beside him, his newly restored legs trembling.

Leo looked up, tears streaming down his face. "I had to," he choked out. "My name is Leo. Ten years ago, my father was the drunk driver who crashed into your car. Before he could process this staggering revelation, the penthouse doors flung open. Richard, Arthur’s long-time business partner, walked in, flanked by two burly security guards.

Richard looked at Arthur standing, and then at Leo writhing on the floor. A sinister smile spread across his face. "Well, Arthur, I see the street rat actually did it. You're walking."

"Richard? What is the meaning of this?" Arthur demanded, shielding Leo.

Richard chuckled, stepping inside. "Ten years ago, I paid Leo's father to run you off the road. I wanted your share of the company. But the coward didn't finish the job, and he kept the money to himself. When I found out his son inherited the family's healing gift, I tracked him down. I forced him to come here and heal you. Because now that you're healthy, Arthur, you can sign over the remaining shares of the company—or I will make sure both of you leave this penthouse in body bags."
