Previously: When wealthy socialites tried to humiliate a quiet catering waitress by exposing her deep physical scars, they had no idea who she actually was—until a legendary general walked in.

The General's Revelation

The silence in the ballroom was deafening. Richard’s face drained of all color, and Evelyn’s mocking laughter died instantly in her throat. A four-star general, a national hero whose influence reached the highest levels of government, was saluting a woman they had just treated like trash.

"General Vance?"
Richard stammered, stepping forward and trying to force a polite smile.
"There must be some mistake. This is Elena. She is... she is just our son's wife. She has no military background."

General Vance turned a freezing, razor-sharp gaze onto Richard. "There is no mistake, Mr. Sterling. This is Captain Elena Sterling. She served under my direct command in the Special Forces. She is a highly decorated combat veteran and a recipient of the Distinguished Service Cross."

The guests gasped. Evelyn shook her head frantically, clutching her gold gown.

"No, that's impossible! Look at her back! She is disfigured! She's a freak!"

General Vance’s eyes burned with righteous fury. "Those scars, Madam, were earned five years ago during a high-risk rescue mission in a hostile territory. Captain Sterling single-handedly dragged three of her wounded comrades out of a burning, armored vehicle seconds before it exploded. One of those men was my son."

The revelation hit the room like a thunderbolt. The very socialites who had been whispering mockingly now looked at Elena with absolute awe and reverence. Evelyn, realizing her social standing was crumbling in real-time, became desperate. She pointed a trembling finger at Elena.

"She lied to us! She hid this! She signed a prenuptial agreement that forbids harboring dangerous secrets! I will have her marriage annulled tonight, and I will make sure she leaves this city with nothing!"

Evelyn pulled out her phone, screaming for her lawyers, determined to destroy Elena's life out of sheer, humiliated spite.
