"Is she out? We need to get the paperwork signed before she wakes up,"

Jack muttered, his voice devoid of any warmth. Martha replied with a chilling chuckle,

"She's done. Once we have her signature on the custody waiver, Lily is ours. My sister's fertility clinic in Switzerland is ready to process the adoption. We'll get our millions, Jack."

The truth hit Sarah like a second physical blow. Jack hadn't married her for love; he and his mother had orchestrated this entire marriage. They knew Sarah's family possessed a massive trust fund, and they had planned to use the baby as a leverage tool to extract millions.
