Previously: When Victoria tried to humiliate me at an upscale wedding by boasting about her wealthy husband, she had no idea who my ordinary husband actually was.

True Class Cannot Be Bought

Victoria stared at her husband, paralyzed by the sudden collapse of her perfect life. The luxury she had paraded in front of everyone was built on a foundation of lies and theft. The guests whispered fiercely, their sympathetic glances turning into cold, mocking stares.

"Take it off," Arthur said quietly, looking at Victoria.

With trembling fingers, Victoria unclasped the heavy diamond necklace. It slipped from her neck, a glittering symbol of her vanity, and she handed it to Arthur. Charles kept his head bowed, weeping silently on the grass.

Arthur turned to me and placed the necklace in my hands. "It’s yours, Sarah. You can do whatever you wish with it."

I looked at the diamonds, then at my cousin, who was now weeping, stripped of her pride and her dignity. She looked at me with pleading eyes, expecting me to gloat, to humiliate her the way she had tried to humiliate me. But true class isn't about diamonds or power; it's about how you treat people when they are at their lowest.

I turned to the event coordinator who was standing nearby, watching the drama unfold. "Please take this necklace," I said softly. "Have it appraised and sold. Donate every single cent to the local children’s hospital."

The crowd gasped, and then a quiet applause broke out among the guests. Victoria looked up at me, stunned by the gesture, her face burning with shame. She realized then that she could never buy the grace that came naturally to those she looked down upon.

Arthur looked at Charles. "You are terminated from your position, Charles. My legal team will contact you tomorrow morning regarding the restitution of the remaining funds. If you cooperate, we may avoid police involvement."

As Arthur and I walked away from the ruined garden party, he gently took my hand. We didn't need flashy jewels or loud boasts to prove our worth. We had each other, and that was a wealth no amount of money could ever buy.
