My Arrogant Ex Cornered Me—Then Four Fierce Bikers Claimed to Be My Sons
Previously: When Clara's powerful ex-husband tracked her down in a remote diner, she made a desperate, split-second plea to a group of rough bikers that changed her life forever.
The Stand-Off
Arthur stopped dead in his tracks, his arrogant smirk faltering for a fraction of a second as he took in Jax’s massive, leather-clad frame. The other three bikers slowly rose from their seats, forming an impenetrable wall of denim, leather, and muscle between Clara and her pursuer. The tension in the diner became thick enough to cut with a knife.
"I don't know what kind of game you're playing," Arthur said, his voice dripping with condescension as he adjusted the cuffs of his sharp suit. "But this woman is my wife, and she is extremely ill. She escaped from a private care facility, and I am here to take her home where she belongs. Step aside before you get hurt."
Jax didn't budge an inch. Instead, he let out a low, mocking chuckle that echoed through the quiet diner. "I don't know who you are, suit, but around here, nobody speaks to our mother like that. And nobody touches her."
Arthur’s face flushed a deep, angry red. He gestured to his two bodyguards, who stepped forward, their hands drifting toward the lapels of their jackets where their weapons were concealed. "I have a legal court order and armed security," Arthur hissed. "You are interfering with a legal matter. This is your last warning."
Clara felt a wave of guilt wash over her. She couldn't let these innocent men get hurt on her account. She reached out to touch Jax’s arm, ready to surrender herself to save them. But Jax gently patted her hand, signaling her to stay back. He pointed toward the glowing red light on the heavy microphone sitting on the table.
"You see that red light, friend?" Jax said, his voice surprisingly calm. "Our show, 'The Road Home,' is currently broadcasting live to over fifty thousand people. We've got a webcam pointing right at you. If your boys pull those guns, fifty thousand people will watch you commit a felony in real-time."
Arthur’s confident posture shattered. He looked at the glowing microphone, then at the small camera mounted on the wall behind the booth. His bodyguards hesitated, their hands freezing in place. Arthur knew that his reputation and his wealth couldn't save him from a live-streamed federal crime.
