Previously: When Robert caught his wealthy fiancée forcing his humble sister to scrub the floors of their new mansion, he made a shocking decision that put his entire empire at risk.

The Billion-Dollar Threat

The heavy silence in the marble foyer was broken only by the sound of Emily’s soft, quiet sobbing. Robert reached down, gently taking his sister by the arm and pulling her to her feet. He wrapped a protective arm around her shoulders, ignoring the wet patches the soapy water left on his expensive light gray suit. Victoria stood frozen, her face pale as the reality of Robert's words began to sink in.

"Are you completely out of your mind, Robert?"

Victoria hissed, her voice dropping to a venomous whisper. "You are canceling our wedding contract and taking back this estate over a clumsy, pathetic maid? She ruined my imported Italian rug and spilled wine on the floor!"

Robert tightened his grip on Emily, staring down his fiancée with absolute contempt. "She is not a maid, Victoria," he said, his voice echoing off the high stone pillars. "She is my sister. The sister who sacrificed her entire life so that I could build the company you so desperately wanted to marry into."

Victoria gasped, but her shock quickly morphed into a bitter, ugly sneer. "Your sister? No wonder she looks so cheap and dirty. You can dress yourself in expensive suits, Robert, but you will always be nothing but low-class trash to me." She whipped out her phone, her fingers flying across the screen. "You think you can humiliate me? My father owns thirty percent of your development firm. He made you, and he can destroy you with a single phone call."

Within seconds, Victoria’s father, Arthur, was on the line. After a brief, frantic explanation from his daughter, Robert’s own phone began to ring. It was Arthur. Robert answered, putting it on speaker. The billionaire's voice was cold and uncompromising.

"Robert, you will apologize to my daughter immediately, and your sister will finish cleaning that floor on her knees,"

Arthur boomed. "If you do not comply, I will withdraw all my capital from your latest high-rise project by tomorrow morning. Your board will revolt, your stock will crash, and you will be completely bankrupt. Choose wisely."

Victoria stood there, her smug smile returning as she watched Robert’s face. She knew he had poured every single cent of his liquid assets into that project. If Arthur pulled out, Robert would lose everything he had spent fifteen years building.
