My Bride's Revenge: He Threw Me Out, But She Came Back To Claim His Empire!
The Storm Unleashed
The penthouse ballroom glittered, a stark contrast to the violent thunderstorm raging outside. Rain lashed against the floor-to-ceiling windows, mirroring the tempest within. Elite guests, clad in their finest black-tie attire, mingled amidst the clinking of crystal flutes, oblivious to the simmering tension. Amidst the opulent chaos, Julian Vance, resplendent in his velvet tuxedo, exuded an air of arrogant entitlement. His gaze, however, was fixed on Jack, his chauffeur, a man who stood with an unnerving military poise, his presence a silent challenge.
Julian, unable to contain his contempt, seized a crystal tumbler of whiskey. With a sneer, he hurled it against the polished black marble floor. The glass exploded, amber liquid and jagged shards spraying across Jack’s immaculate leather boots. The sharp crack of breaking glass punctuated Julian’s venomous words, his face contorted in malice. "Know your place, stray dog!" he spat, thrusting an accusatory finger inches from Jack’s nose. "Kneel down and lap this up, or I will throw you into the streets where you belong!" Jack remained motionless, his jaw subtly clenched, his slate-gray eyes, reflecting the lightning flashes, unblinking and steady. He offered no reaction, no response, his silence a shield Julian couldn’t penetrate.

Driven by a surge of explosive rage, Julian lunged forward, his hand raised to deliver a demeaning slap. But Jack’s reflexes were lightning-fast. His left hand shot upward, intercepting Julian’s wrist in an iron vice grip. A sickening, dull thud echoed as Jack twisted Julian’s joint backward. Julian’s knees buckled, sending him staggering towards the scattered glass shards. "You have spent five years mistaking my silence for submission, Julian," Jack stated, his voice a low, lethal calm that sent a shiver down Julian’s spine. Julian, momentarily paralyzed by pain and shock, could only gasp, his teeth clamped shut, eyes wide with dawning terror as a bead of cold sweat traced a path down his contorted brow.
