My Clumsy Waitress Dropped Her Tray, Revealing My Stolen Daughter's Priceless Pendant
Previously: When a young waitress accidentally drops her tray, a hidden necklace reveals a shocking connection to a wealthy woman's tragic past, exposing a devastating family secret.
The Husband's Panic
Before Rosie could process the elegant woman's words, a shadow fell over them. Diana’s husband, Richard, rushed over from their table. His face was pale, his eyes darting nervously between his wife and the young waitress. He grabbed Diana’s arm, attempting to pull her away from the mess.
"Diana, stop this nonsense," Richard commanded, his voice sharp and laced with artificial authority. "She’s just a clumsy waitress trying to scam you. Look at her—she probably stole that heirloom from an estate sale. Let’s go."
But Diana refused to budge. She looked at Rosie, her heart pounding. Rosie shook her head frantically, tears streaming down her face.
"I didn't steal it!" Rosie insisted. "I grew up in the foster system in Chicago. I was left at an orphanage in a wicker basket when I was just a toddler, and this necklace was pinned to my blanket. It is the only connection to my past that I have!"
When Rosie mentioned Chicago, Richard flinched as if struck. His reaction was immediate and extreme. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his leather wallet, and threw a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills onto the floor beside the broken glass.
"Take this and get out," Richard spat at Rosie, his voice trembling with a strange, desperate panic. "Quit your job, leave the city, just get away from my wife!"
Diana stared at her husband in utter disbelief. Why was he so terrified? Why was he trying to pay off a young waitress to disappear? A chilling suspicion began to creep into Diana's mind. She stood up, shielding Rosie from Richard's hostile glare.
"No, Richard," Diana said, her voice turning to steel. "We are not leaving. And she is not going anywhere. We are going to get a DNA test, right now."
