Previously: At the altar, my fiancé whispered a cruel secret that shattered my heart. He thought I was a nobody—until my powerful father walked in and changed everything.

The Price of Truth

For a tense moment, the entire church held its breath. Evelyn smirked, believing she had successfully blackmailed the billionaire. She thought the threat of a public scandal would force Charles to reinstate Mason and proceed with the wedding. But Harper refused to let her father be blackmailed by a family of opportunists. She stepped between her father and Evelyn, her eyes flashing with resolve.

"Show them the papers, Evelyn," Harper said, her voice steady and calm. Both Mason and his mother stared at her in shock. Harper turned to her father, taking his hand. "Dad, we don't care about the money or the reputation. If there is a mistake in the past, we will face it together. But we will never let these people control us."

Charles looked at his daughter, his eyes filling with pride. The fear vanished from his face, replaced by a calm, unyielding strength. He looked at Evelyn and smiled coldly.

"My daughter is right. Those records are from a decade ago, and they were already cleared by an independent audit. Go ahead and call the press. But while you do that, my security team is calling the police to report you for attempted extortion."

Evelyn’s face fell, and the folder slipped from her fingers, scattering papers across the altar. Mason let out a pathetic sob, realizing their desperate gamble had utterly failed. Charles called the security guards, who promptly escorted the weeping Mason and his furious mother out of the church to the sound of applause from the wedding guests.

Though the wedding was canceled, Harper walked out of the church with her head held high, arm in arm with her father. She had lost a deceitful fiancé, but she had gained a profound understanding of her own strength and the unbreakable bond of family. In the end, true wealth is not measured by the size of a bank account, but by the integrity of the people who stand by your side.
