The Altar of Betrayal

The historic St. Jude’s Chapel was bathed in the warm, flickering glow of a hundred beeswax candles. For Madison, this was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Dressed in a stunning white gown with a delicate lace veil cascading over her blonde waves, she stood at the altar looking at Wyatt, the man she adored. But as the ceremony was about to begin, Wyatt’s expression shifted from loving fiancé to a cold, calculating stranger.

Leaning in close under the guise of an intimate whisper, Wyatt spoke words that shattered Madison’s world. "Do you really think I would marry a poor girl like you? I only used you," he hissed, a cruel smirk playing on his lips before he let out a soft, mocking laugh. Tears welled in Madison’s eyes, spilling over her cheeks as she realized the man she loved was nothing but a fraud.

Before Madison could even process the depth of his betrayal, the heavy oak doors at the back of the chapel swung open with a resounding crash. The sudden noise startled the guests, drawing every eye to the entrance. A commanding figure stepped into the light—George, a distinguished man in his late fifties with sharp grey hair, wearing an impeccably tailored navy blue suit.

"Sorry I'm late, daughter, I was in an important meeting," George announced, his powerful voice echoing off the stone walls as he marched down the aisle.

Wyatt spun around, his smug grin instantly vanishing. His face drained of all color, turning a ghostly pale. He stared at George in absolute horror, his knees visibly shaking as his boss approached the altar.

"Boss? You're her father?" Wyatt stammered, his voice cracking with pure panic.

Madison looked on through her tears, watching the man who had just tried to destroy her realize that he had just sealed his own doom.
