You do not have to do this," he said, his voice cracking with emotion. Hazel refused to meet his eyes, her head bowed in shame as she clutched the wet rag to her chest.

Chloe rolled her eyes, let out a loud sigh, and scoffed.

"Dad, why are you babying her? She's clumsy and she ruined my favorite tea. She needs to learn to do her job properly."

Logan stepped forward, trying to play peacemaker. "Maybe we should all just take a breath," he murmured, but Chloe silenced him with a harsh glare.

Henry stood up slowly, his face pale with a mixture of grief and fury. He stared at his daughter, realizing with a sinking heart how much his wealth had spoiled her soul. "She is not just a servant, Chloe. And you have no right to treat any human being this way, let alone her," Henry said, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper.
