Previously: When Olivia’s cruel ex-husband threw her onto the pavement while she was pregnant, he thought he won. He had no idea who her father really was.

The Arrival of Arthur Vance

The heavy doors of the lead SUV swung open, and out stepped Arthur Vance. Clad in a tailored charcoal suit, the gray-haired patriarch exuded an aura of immense power and quiet fury. Behind him, three top-tier corporate attorneys stepped out, carrying thick leather briefcases. Richard’s jaw dropped. Everyone in the state’s elite circles knew Arthur Vance—the ruthless billionaire developer who practically owned the city’s commercial real estate.

Richard had married Olivia in a quick, private ceremony, and she had intentionally kept her wealthy background quiet, wanting to build a life based on love, not her father's fortune. Richard had assumed her maiden name belonged to a middle-class family. Now, the terrifying reality was crashing down on him.

"Arthur..." Richard stammered, his arrogant demeanor instantly evaporating. "I... I didn't know you were Olivia's father."

Arthur ignored him completely, walking straight to his weeping daughter. He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her auburn hair. "I’ve got you, sweetheart," he murmured softly. "You and the baby are safe now." He then turned his cold, piercing gaze toward Richard and Sarah, who was now trembling in her green cocktail dress.

Arthur's lead attorney, a sharp-eyed woman named Evelyn, stepped forward. She unzipped her briefcase and pulled out a thick stack of legal documents. "Mr. Croft," she said, her voice cutting through the evening air like a scalpel. "We have just filed an emergency injunction. This mansion, along with ninety percent of your company's assets, was acquired using investment capital heavily backed by Vance Holdings."

"What are you talking about?" Richard gasped, his voice cracking. "I built my company!"

"You built it on our money," Arthur spoke up, his voice dangerously low. "And you signed a standard corporate clause that allows Vance Holdings to call in all outstanding debts immediately upon any breach of ethical conduct. Throwing my pregnant daughter onto the street certainly qualifies."
