Previously: When Vanessa forced an elderly woman to scrub the floor, she thought she was humiliating a clumsy maid. She had no idea she was actually addressing her fiancé's mother.

A Lesson in Respect

Vanessa’s face went entirely pale as she stammered, trying to piece together an apology.

"Edward... I—I didn't know! She was dressed so simply, I thought... I thought she was the staff!"

Edward stood tall, his eyes burning with absolute fury.

"So if she were a member of our staff, it would be acceptable to humiliate her like this?" Edward asked, his voice dangerously calm. "Is this how you treat people you deem beneath you, Vanessa?"

Edward stepped back, completely repulsed.

"Our wedding is off," Edward declared coldly. "Pack your things and get out of my mother's house. You have ten minutes."

Vanessa begged and pleaded, but Edward remained unyielding. Realizing she had lost everything, she fled upstairs to grab her belongings, leaving the mansion in tears. Once she was gone, Dylan walked over to Miriam, tears in his eyes as he apologized for not speaking up sooner. Miriam smiled warmly, pulling her grandson into a tight hug.

"It takes courage to stand up to cruelty, Dylan," Miriam whispered. "I am just glad you found yours."

Edward held his mother’s hand, promising to never let anyone disrespect her again. As they sat together in the grand living room, Miriam felt a deep sense of peace. True nobility is not found in expensive clothes or grand titles, but in how we choose to treat the most vulnerable among us.
