My Husband Laughed When I Fell, But My Lawyer Had the Last Word
Previously: When Lauren fell from her chair at her own wedding, her groom and mother-in-law openly mocked her. Little did they know, a sudden visitor was about to turn their laughter into absolute terror.
The Confrontation
The room erupted into whispers as Steven marched down the center aisle of the banquet hall. Tyler’s smirk vanished, replaced by a look of sudden panic. Diane tried to block Steven’s path, her gold dress rustling loudly.
"What is the meaning of this?" Diane demanded. "This is a private family celebration! Get this man out of here!"
"I am afraid the celebration is over, Diane," Steven replied smoothly, placing his briefcase on the head table. "I am here on behalf of my client, Lauren, to address a matter of severe financial fraud."
Steven opened his briefcase and pulled out two copies of the prenuptial agreement. He explained to the shocked wedding guests that Tyler and Diane had devised a scheme to save their failing family business. They had presented Lauren with a standard prenuptial agreement, but right before signing, Tyler had swapped the pages. The final document, which Lauren had signed without re-reading, legally transferred her entire multi-million-dollar family trust fund to Tyler’s company upon their marriage.

Tyler tried to grab the documents from Steven’s hands, his face pale and sweating. "Lauren, this is a misunderstanding! We can talk about this in private. Don't let this man ruin our day!"
"You ruined this day the moment you decided to treat me like a bank account," Lauren said, her voice steady and cold. "And your mother ruined it when she decided to humiliate me."
Diane, realizing their plan was crumbling, snapped. She grabbed her glass of red wine and threw it directly at Lauren’s white lace dress. The dark liquid stained the pristine fabric, but Lauren didn't even flinch. Instead, Steven pulled a tablet from his briefcase, displaying a live video feed.
"We have the notary's security footage of the swap, Tyler," Steven said. "And we also have the police waiting outside."
