Previously: When Lauren fell from her chair at her own wedding, her groom and mother-in-law openly mocked her. Little did they know, a sudden visitor was about to turn their laughter into absolute terror.

A New Beginning

The revelation of the police waiting outside sent Tyler into a state of absolute terror. He fell to his knees, begging Lauren for forgiveness, claiming he only did it because his family’s real estate empire was on the verge of bankruptcy. But Lauren’s heart had completely turned to stone. She looked down at him, realizing that the man she had loved was nothing more than a desperate con artist.

"The marriage is void, Tyler," Steven announced. "Since the marriage license has not yet been filed with the county clerk, and the prenuptial agreement was obtained through proven fraud, this union is legally non-existent."

Two police officers entered the banquet hall, their heavy boots echoing on the marble floor. They walked straight to the head table and placed handcuffs on Tyler, charging him with grand larceny and forgery. Diane screamed, trying to pull the officers away from her son, but she was quickly threatened with arrest for obstruction of justice.

The wedding guests watched in stunned silence as the groom was led away in his tuxedo, his mother weeping hysterically behind him. Lauren stood in the center of the room, her dress stained with red wine, but she had never felt lighter. She looked at her guests, many of whom had laughed at her fall just moments ago.

"Thank you all for coming," Lauren said into the microphone. "The catering is paid for, so please, enjoy the food. But as for me, I am going to start my new life."

Lauren walked out of the hall with her head held high, accompanied by Steven. She had lost a husband, but she had saved her future, her fortune, and her dignity. True love would find her one day, but until then, she knew she was strong enough to stand on her own two feet—no matter who tried to push her down.
