My Husband Threw Me Out Pregnant, But He Didn't Know Who My Father Was
Cast Out in the Cold
The rain had just stopped, leaving the grand stone driveway of the Belmont estate glistening like a dark mirror under the overcast sky. Elena stood at the bottom of the steps, her hands trembling as she clutched her beige knitted cardigan tightly around her shivering frame. Above her, standing before the massive classical stone pillars of the mansion they had built together, was her husband, Marcus.
With a violent grunt, Marcus hoisted a heavy black hard-shell suitcase and threw it down the grand stone stairs. The zipper burst upon impact, sending Elena’s silk blouses, maternity wear, and personal belongings scattering across the wet pavement.
"Get out!"Marcus bellowed, his voice echoing off the cold stone walls. His face was contorted in a mask of anger and disgust that Elena had never seen before.

Before Elena could even find her breath, another figure stepped out from behind the heavy mahogany double doors. It was Sophia. She was wearing a stunning, royal blue one-shoulder satin evening gown, her diamond necklace catching the dim daylight. She looked radiant, expensive, and utterly heartless. Marcus immediately softened, wrapping his arm tightly around Sophia’s slender waist. Sophia looked down at Elena, her lips curling into a smug, victorious smile.
Elena felt a sharp pang in her lower abdomen. She placed a trembling hand over her pregnant belly, her mind racing. She looked down at the glittering diamond engagement and wedding rings on her finger. They felt like handcuffs now. Tears streamed down her face, mixing with the cold air. Marcus had promised to love her forever, but the moment he gained wealth and met Sophia, he decided his pregnant wife was nothing but dead weight.
Wiping her tears, Elena reached into her pocket and pulled out her iPhone. Her fingers shook as she dialed a number she hadn't called in years. She pressed the phone to her ear, sobbing openly.
"Dad, come get me. And bring the legal team,"she whispered. Marcus laughed mockingly from the top of the stairs, but his laughter would soon turn to ash.
