Security guards rushed to restrain Daniel, who was spitting blood onto the pristine floor. Henry stood over him, his chest heaving, his silver hair slightly disheveled but his posture commanding. Grace huddled in her seat, her heart pounding against her ribs. "He stole it all, Henry!" Daniel screamed, pointing a finger at them. "Your son ruined me! He took the offshore accounts and left me to take the fall! Ask his wife where the money is!"

The ballroom had gone completely silent. Grace looked from Daniel to Henry, her mind racing. What offshore accounts? What was Julian doing? She turned to Henry, expecting him to deny the accusations, but the look of grim resignation on the older man's face chilled her to the bone. "Grace, there are things about Julian I tried to protect you from," Henry began, his voice cracking. "My son is not the man you think he is. For the past five years, he has been using Daniel's firm to launder money. I found out last month and tried to force him to stop."

Grace felt the room spin. The lavish lifestyle, the sudden business trips, the constant anxiety Julian had displayed—it all clicked into a horrifying reality. "Where is Julian now, Henry?" she whispered, fearing the answer. Henry looked down, unable to meet her eyes. "He fled the country this morning, Grace.
